Hello everyone! My name is Calvin Mattson. I am a senior player from Minnesota, with not very many acomplishments. In this article I will be talking about a super fun, semi-competitive deck and my tournament report with it. The deck I decided to play was Shedinja/Ninjask. and the reason was is beacause it has great machups around the board (except Garbodor.) and in my opinion was the best deck to play. So without further ado the deck:
4 Nincada DRX
4 Shedinja DRX
3 Ninjask DRX
2 Sigyliph DRX
2 Mr. Mime PLF
4 Professor Juniper
4 Level Ball
4 Hypnotoxic Laser
3 Skyarrow Bridge
3 Silver Bangle
3 Super Rod
2 Rescue Scarf
1 Tool Scraper
1 Life Dew ACE SPEC.
The reason i play nincada is to get out Ninjask.
main point of the deck. its ability is when ko'ed your opponent does not take a prize card.
The main attacker of the deck. night slash, for a crass/colorless does 60 and you may switch him with a benched pokemon aka shedinja (and sometimes sigyliph.) Also his ability is when you evolve him you may search your deck for a shedinja and put it on your bench.
I dont think i will go into T/S/S because its mostly self splanitory but if you have a question just leave it in the comments.
So we get there decklist check and all. the tournament starts 1 hour late (most Midwest pokemon events start late xD) and then round one came up.
ROUND 1 EMERY W/BLASTOISE/BLACK KYUREM
So we flip I end up winning so I choose to go first. We draw our hand and i see Nincada no supporters and a bunch of useless stuff. He starts lone squirtle. So all i can do is draw, attach, play Laser and pass. he draws and passes draw TOP DECK Ninjask for the win!
ROUND 2 GEORGE W/BIG BASICS GARBODOR
I dont remember much except my scrapper was prized so yeaaah.easy win for him.
ROUND 3 EMMET W/STRAGHT DARKRAI
Sorry, I dont Remember much about this game either except he decked himself on his own N.
ROUND 4 ANDREW W/VIRIZION MEWTWO
I was wanting to play this for awhile earlier Andrew had called my deck "Stupid" so I was waiting for this. We draw our opening hands and I get the perfect start. I still cant remember much sorry, but i crushed him and he ended up droping xD.
ROUND 5 SHANE W/TDK
He offers to intentionally draw so we both make top but i was not sure at the moment because I did not know if we both would. Sadly 5 minutes later i did figure it out but it was to late. so I lost and prayed to the poke Gods i could still make top.
The results came in and.......................... 5th seed. :(
So overall I think Shedinja is a great deck and I hope you all will play it at some point.
Thanks for reading
PS please tell me how I did and what I can improve on.
